Ayilyam (16.40 Cancer – 30.00 Cancer) or Ashlesha is the 9th Nakshatra on the Zodiac Belt. It is a group of 5 stars that are close to the sun. The natives of Ayilyam Nakshatra are the true followers of Mercury, full of curiosity and intellect. They are some of the most efficient and influential people there are, although their dominant deity being Naga, they can exhibit a clingy nature.
She has the seductive power of the Nagas
Her attributes are the cat, the blue sparrow, and Naga Champa plant
The mythology associated with the Ayilyam Nakshatra is associated with the banishment of the serpent Kalinga from the Yamuna river. Balakrishna and his friends were playing on the banks of the river Yamuna. As the ball fell into the river, Krishna jumped into the waters to retrieve it. Unbeknownst to him, the serpent Kalinga was residing in the Yamuna, and he grabbed Krishna, spewing poison intending to kill him. Krishna performed the Kainga Narthana by climbing onto the hood of the serpent. Kalingas wives begged him to release their husband. Krishna spared his life on one condition, that he returns to his homeland of Ramanaka Dwipa. Like Kalinga, it is said that natives of Ayilyam will encounter a Krishna in their life who will set them on the right path.
