Ashwathi

This is the sloka or prayer for the Nakshatra Aswathi, which was given by my mentor who inspired me to do this work. Each lunar constellation covers 13 degrees, 20 minutes.

Bharani

Bharani the second constellation — Ranges from Degrees 13-20′ – 26-40′ in Aries sign. It is denoted by a triad of faint stars, also known as the ‘Bearing Star’ or 'Star of Restraint'.

Karthika

Krittika – The Razor (26.40 Aries-10.00 Taurus) is represented by a group of 7 stars, the Pleiades.

Rohini

Rohini (10.00-23.20 Taurus) is a bright pale rose star – the Aldebaran. Rohini is ruled by Brahma, the Creator.

Magayiram

Magayiram /Mṛgaśira nakṣatra extends from after 23°20 in Vṛṣabha Rāśi/ Taurus up to 6°40 in Mithuna./Gemini. Star is governed by Mars and the presiding deity or God is a Chandra.

Ardra / Thiruvathira

Ardra (6.40-20.00 Gemini) is the seed of the Rahu’s energy and contains a single bright star in the Orion constellation.

Punarvasu / Punartham

Punarvasu – The BowPunarvasu (20.00 Gemini-3.20 Cancer) is ruled by the Mother Goddess, Aditi. This nakshatra constitutes the root of the energy of Jupiter and translates into the reappearance of goodness.

Pushya / Pooyam

Pushya (3.20 Cancer-16.40 Cancer) is a constellation of 3 stars that are not very bright. Pushya is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘pushti’ or nourishment.

Uttara Phalguni / Uttaram

Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra: Range 26°40’ Leo to 10°00’ VirgoRuling Planet: The SunDeity: Arayman, God of patronage.Symbol: Bed or legs of a cot.

'The Golden Handed Star' Symbol: Hasta literally means 'hand' and the symbol is an open hand. It shows where we have skilled hands which are related to action and karma.

Vishaka / Vishagham

Vishaka Nakshatra comes under in the domain of planet Venus ( libra ) and mars ( Scorpio) ruled by planet Jupiter. Vishaka is the sixteenth Nakshatra called ‘’The Star of Purpose’’.

Anuradha / Anizham

Anuradha literally means following Radha and it is a very devotional Nakshatra. It is related to the goddess Radha who is the consort of Lord Krishna.

Jyeshta / Thriketta

Jyeshtha Nakshatra comes under the domain of planet Mars (Scorpio) and ruled by Mercury. Jyeshta is the eighteen lunar mansions. It contains a brilliant three red star.

Moola / Moolam

Moola nakshatra comes under the domain of planet Jupiter and ruled by Ketu. It is the most difficult nakshatra for the planets to be situated in, especially the Moon.

Purva Ashadha / Pooradam

Purva Ashadha Nakshatra comes under in the domain of planet Jupiter (Sagittarius) and ruled by planet Venus. Purva Ashadha is the twentieth Nakshatra called ‘’The Invincible Star’’.

Uttara Ashada / Uttaradam

Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra comes under in the domain of planet Jupiter one part (Sagittarius 26 40’) to three-part Saturn (Capricorn 10 00’) and ruled by planet Sun.

Shravana / Thiruvonam

Shravana Nakshatra Comes under the domain of planet Saturn (Capricorn ) and ruled by planet Moon. Sharavna Nakshatra is the twenty-second Nakshatra consists of three bright stars in the head of Eagle known as Aquila.

Dhanistha / Avittam

Dhanishta or the Avittam Nakshatra (23.20 Capricorn – 06.40 Aquarius) is the Alpha Delphini multiple star system in the Delphinus constellation.

Purva Bhadrapada / Puruttathi

Purattadhi is a pair of two stars Alpha and Beta Pegasi in the Pegasus constellation. This nakshatra builds the bridge between the 11th house of Aquarius and the 12th house of Pisces.

Uttara Bhadrapada / Uthrattathi

The Uthratathi (03.20 Pisces – 16.40 Pisces) is made of two stars, Gamma Pegasi and Alpha Andromeda. The ruling planet for this nakshatra is Saturn.

Revati

Revathi(16.40 Pisces – 30.00 Pisces) is the Indian name for the Zeta Piscium, a star that is on the edge of the Pisces Zodiac. The name Revati means ‘The Shining one’.

Makam

Magam – The Magnificent (0.00 Leo – 13.20 Leo) is the star Regulus, ruled by the Planet Ketu, from the Leo constellation

Ayilyam

Ayilyam (16.40 Cancer – 30.00 Cancer) or Ashlesha is the 9th Nakshatra on the Zodiac Belt.

Pooram

Pooram (13.20 Leo – 26.40 Leo) is an earthly nakshatra, ruled by the alluring Venus. Natives of Pooram develop attractive personalities and easily sway people.

Shatabhisaa / Chadayam

The Chadayam (06.40 Aquarius – 20.00 Aquarius) is the star Gamma Aquarii, a possible binary star system in the Aquarius Constellation.
